Our daughter, Lisa, loves to cook. Wonder where she got that?! Anyway, her husband raves about her meals, and this garlic bread she created is tops on his list. He calls it her “famous” garlic bread. She gave me permission to share it with you. I made it for dinner the other night and used 3 cloves of garlic, 2 T. minced fresh herbs, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. May as well do it up right! Yum!
½ c. softened unsalted butter
½ t. salt
2 – 3 cloves minced garlic
1 – 2 T. minced fresh herbs of choice
Grated parmesan cheese (optional)
16 slices sourdough bread or 1 unsliced sourdough baguette, sliced in half lengthwise
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Mix first five ingredients. Spread on bread slices or cut baguette. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, if desired. Place on baking sheet and bake 5 – 8 minutes until just turning color. Do not over bake or the bread will become stale. Makes 16 pieces or 1 loaf (split)
